4 Months Old

Kalina is getting so big!  Last doctor appointment she was almost 13 lbs!!  She is twice as big as when she was born.  During the past two weeks she has started to sleep in her big girl crib, sit in a bumbo and eat baby cereal (1X day) in her highchair!  I can't believe how big she has gotten so quick.  Time is flying by and we are having so much fun!

On the Day You were Born

On June 30, 2011, I was blessed with a beautiful 6lbs 13oz little girl.  Kalina Ann was healthy and very strong.  She picked her head up within minutes of being born and shocked the photographer with her strength a day later while taking pictures.  Looking back over the past three months I have experienced such joy in my heart I can't even begin to put it into words but I will try.  The first time Kali focused on me I thought that my life was finally just beginning.  When she made eye contact, it felt like a real connection.  We were both on the same page.....unconditional love!  I have been blessed by God with the most precious gift anyone could ever receive.  I had been very worried that I was not going to know what to do or how to act but it all just came together and still does every day.  The first time my daughter laughed we were hanging out with my parents and nieces at the neighborhood pool.  I was bouncing her up and down and just her feet were hitting the water.  She started smiling and then the most wonderful sound I have ever heard came out of her mouth.  She was actually laughing from deep down in her belly.  Right then and there I knew what a miracle she was and was grateful to be blessed by God with such a wonderful gift.
